The volleyball uniform consists of a top and bottom or sometime a one-piece. The top and bottom piece must be of like or coordinating colors. The uniform top must be skin tight, but cannot expose the midriff, and it must be long enough to be tucked into or hang below the waistband of the bottoms.
Another modified rule is that teams may wear pants instead of shorts (see the 2020 Critical Rules interpretation for more detail). Essentially, they may wear pants – anything below the knee – but all must be the same. Teams cannot wear a mix of shorts and pants without a waiver from the USAV Indoor Rules Interpreter.
